CookEU project

The CookEU project is a pioneering initiative aimed at modernizing Vocational Education and Training (VET) schools, particularly in the gastronomy sector. The project’s primary goal is to enhance skills matching and anticipation, thereby increasing the attractiveness of VET programmes for NEET and adults seeking professional re-orientation.

Key aspects of the project include:

• International Cooperation: The project seeks to foster international cooperation initiatives among culinary vocational schools, particularly in the targeted countries. This is a rare occurrence and is expected to enrich the curriculum with traditional dishes from neighboring countries.

• Digitalisation: The CookEU project recognizes the impact of digitalisation on education. It aims to launch digital VET courses, providing flexibility and accessibility for learners who may already be engaged in the labour market.

• Cross-sectoral and Multi-stakeholder Approaches: The project acknowledges the need for stronger cross-sectoral and multi-stakeholder approaches to build linkages between sectors and ease education-to-work transitions for learners.

• Attractiveness of VET: The project aims to enhance the image of VET schools within their local communities and among employers by modernising curriculum, courses, and methodological approaches.

The CookEU project is a response to the evolving needs of labour markets influenced by globalisation and digitalisation. It aligns with the Council Recommendation of 24/11/2020, urging VET providers to increase the flexibility of their programmes. The project is a significant step towards internationalising VET schools, promoting digitalisation in education, and enhancing the attractiveness of vocational education.
