The seventh day of our Erasmus+ project “Health4Youth – Sănătate pentru tinerime” was dedicated to discovering the cultural and historical treasures of Romania. After several days filled with educational workshops, creative teamwork, and intercultural learning, participants enjoyed a well-deserved excursion day, exploring two of Transylvania’s most fascinating destinations — Bran and Brașov.
Early in the morning, the group departed from Sfântu Gheorghe, full of energy and excitement. The first stop of the day was the world-famous Bran Castle, known for its connection to the legend of Dracula. Nestled among green hills and dramatic mountain landscapes, the castle immediately captured everyone’s attention. Participants wandered through its winding staircases, historic rooms, and towers, learning about the history, myths, and mysteries that surround this iconic place. The visit was both educational and entertaining — a perfect blend of legend, culture, and architecture. Of course, there was also time for plenty of photos, souvenirs, and laughter before the group continued their journey.
Next, the participants traveled to the charming city of Brașov, one of Romania’s most beautiful and lively cities. Surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, Brașov offered a wonderful mix of medieval atmosphere and modern life. The group strolled through the picturesque old town, admired the colorful buildings of Council Square (Piața Sfatului), and visited the impressive Black Church, a symbol of the city’s rich cultural heritage. Participants had some free time to explore the streets, enjoy local cafés, and experience the welcoming spirit of Brașov.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was joyful and relaxed. The excursion gave participants not only the chance to learn more about Romanian culture and history, but also to spend quality time together, strengthen their international friendships, and reflect on the experiences of the past week. Shared conversations, laughter, and group photos made the day truly unforgettable.
As the group returned to Sfântu Gheorghe in the evening, the bus was filled with music, stories, and smiles. Many participants expressed how much they enjoyed seeing a different side of Romania and how the day helped them connect even more deeply with their Erasmus+ friends.
Day 7 was more than just a trip — it was a celebration of culture, discovery, and togetherness. It reminded us all that exploring new places and learning about different traditions are at the heart of what makes Erasmus+ such a powerful and inspiring experience.
